COURSE YARDAGE
Course yardage is subject to change based on weather/course conditions but this is a good guide for those that wish to play practice rounds from a similar yardage. Hole-by-hole yardages are at the end of this document.

REGISTRATION
All contestants must register in person with the PNGA at Shaughnessy Golf and Country Club, prior to playing in the championship. Registration will be located outside the golf shop. The following hours of registration have been scheduled:
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 30: 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
MONDAY, OCTOBER 1: 8:15 a.m. – 9:15 a.m.
SHOTGUN STARTING TIMES
Round 1 and 2 will be a 9:30 a.m. shotgun start.
SCHEDULE
36-hole gross and net stroke play competition. Contestants in each championship will be divided into flights according to course handicap. Gross and net prizes will be awarded within each flight. In the event of a tie for the overall gross championship a sudden-death playoff will be used to determine the champion. All other ties will be broken by using USGA retrogression.
MONDAY, OCTOBER 1: Round 1, 9:30 a.m. shotgun start.
Contestants’ luncheon, hosted by the PNGA, immediately after the round inside the clubhouse.
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 2: Round 2, 9:30 a.m. shotgun start.
Contestants’ luncheon (heavy hors devours), hosted by the PNGA, immediately after the round inside the clubhouse.
Awards Ceremony to be held in conjunction with the luncheon at approximately 3:30 p.m.
PRACTICE ROUND
The PNGA has made arrangements for contestants to play one hosted practice round prior to the championship. Tee times will be available for out of town contestants after 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, September 30. Local contestants can schedule their practice round during the week prior at the discretion of the golf shop staff. Players may schedule practice round times by calling the golf shop at (604) 266-6248. All times are at the discretion of the host club golf shop staff. Practice rounds may be scheduled as soon as players register.
FOOD SERVICE – NO HOST (Sunday)
The halfway house snack bar will open during practice rounds for food and beverage. Dining in the clubhouse will be very limited.
FOOD SERVICE – NO HOST (Monday and Tuesday)
A full continental breakfast will be available on Monday and Tuesday beginning at 7:30 a.m. for $16 (CAD) per person. The halfway house snack bar will open each day at 9:30 a.m.
CONTESTANTS’ LUNCHEONS (HOSTED)
A contestants' luncheon, hosted by the PNGA, is scheduled in the clubhouse after both rounds. Guests of contestants are welcome. Tickets for guests must be purchased at registration and are $25 (CAD) per day.
METHODS OF PAYMENT ACCEPTED
All major credit cards and charge back to most private clubs. Cash is NOT accepted anywhere onsite.
HOURS OF OPERATION
The golf shop and driving range with both be open by 7:30 a.m. each day.
LOCKER ROOM
Contestants are welcome to use the women’s locker room throughout the championship.
CLUB CARE AND STORAGE
Club care and overnight club storage will be available beginning on Sunday, September 30. Please make arrangements with the golf shop staff if you wish to leave your clubs overnight.
RANGE BALLS
Range balls will be available on the driving range before each round, courtesy of the PNGA.
AUTOMOTIVE CARTS
The use of automotive carts during the championship is permitted. Carts have been reserved for those contestants who paid for one during registration. Cart fees are $20 (USD) per rider, per day and were to be paid at the time of registration. Carts will only be guaranteed for players who paid during registration.
SPECTATOR CARTS
To provide an equal championship platform for all competitors, the use of automotive carts by spectators is not permitted at any time by the PNGA.
CHAMPIONSHIP ACCOMMODATIONS FOR DISABLED SPECTATORS
The PNGA is committed to providing an enjoyable spectator experience for people with disabilities at PNGA Championships. Requests from spectators seeking transportation onto the golf course due to a permanent disability, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), must be submitted to a PNGA staff member on site. While spectator carts are not allowed, the PNGA will make every effort to accommodate these requests by assigning a PNGA volunteer driver based on availability. The driver will transport the spectator to viewing locations throughout the golf course, not shot-by-shot or hole-by-hole.
Spectators with transportation needs should contact the PNGA Championship Department at
(206) 526-1238 prior to the championship so that arrangements can be made to have a driver on site.
Requests due to temporary injuries or impairments will not be granted.
Only spectators who have complied with the above procedures and met the requirements will be permitted to ride. Every possible effort will be made to ensure that spectators with permanent disabilities are able to view the competition.
PULL CARTS
Pull carts are permitted. Contestants who use pull carts, should take them around the outside edge of all greenside bunkers and around all teeing grounds.
CADDIES
Host club may be available upon request. Contestants who would like to reserve a caddie, should contact the golf shop in advance. Contestants may also provide their own caddie.
GHIN SCORE POSTING
The PNGA will post and transmit the adjusted scores for all players on the USGA GHIN System for handicapping purposes. Players who belong to Golf Canada will have their scores sent to BC Golf for posting after the championship.
AWARDS CEREMONY
The awards presentations will begin after the final round, during the luncheon at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 2.
PRIZES
Kusak crystal prizes will be awarded to the Champion, the Net Champion, and all top flight winners (gross and net) within the Senior Women’s Amateur Championship and the Super Senior Women’s Amateur Championship.
EXEMPTIONS
The 2018 PNGA Senior Women’s Amateur Champion will receive an exemption into the 2019-2023 PNGA Senior Women’s amateur Championships. The Champion will also receive an exemption into the 2019 PNGA Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship.
The 2018 PNGA Super Senior Women’s Amateur Champion will receive an exemption into the
2019-2023 PNGA Super Senior Women’s Amateur Championships.
PERFORMANCE POINTS LIST
Performance points may be awarded for the PNGA Senior Women’s Amateur and Super Senior Women’s Amateur Championship through the player’s respective state or provincial association. Players may verify with their association by phone or their website.
DRESS CODE
The PNGA expects all contestants and their caddies to wear suitable attire on the host club property throughout the duration of the championship, including practice rounds. Suitable attire does not include cutoffs, short shorts, tank tops, halters, jeans, or denim of any kind or color, tee shirts, bare midriff, spandex, sweat pants, or unkempt clothing of any kind. Contestants must wear blouses or golf shirts. If a shirt is sleeveless, it must have a collar. Contestants must wear slacks, golf skirts, or shorts. Skirts and shorts must be of an appropriate length and must meet the host club dress code. Hats and visors must not be worn in the clubhouse. Shoes and socks must be worn at all times on the golf course. Sandals of any kind, including sandals with soft spikes, are not allowed on the golf course at any time, including practice areas. If additional measures are required by the host club, they will be communicated to all contestants prior to the championship and must be adhered to. Gallery must adhere to the host club dress code policy. Failure to adhere to the dress code may result in disqualification and removal from the course.
FOOTWEAR
Shoes with traditionally-designed spikes (regardless of composition, i.e., ceramic, plastic, etc.) or spikes, regardless of design, comprised either entirely or partially of metal (if such metal may come in contact with the course) are prohibited during the stipulated round. Penalty for breach of this condition: DISQUALIFICATION.
DISTANCE MEASURING DEVICES
In this competition, a player may obtain distance information by use of a distance-measuring device. If, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (e.g., elevation changes, wind speed, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 14-3.
CONDUCT CODE
The PNGA expects all contestants, caddies, gallery, and guests to exhibit proper conduct and behavior on the golf course and anywhere on club property during a PNGA championship. Unbecoming conduct or behavior may be grounds for immediate disqualification, at any time, from any PNGA event. The following are some examples of unbecoming conduct or behavior:
- Loud, abusive, and/or profane language
- Intentionally throwing and/or breaking equipment or the like (club, ball, etc.) in anger or frustration
- Intentionally damaging host club, PNGA, and/or fellow contestant property
- Abuse of any kind of host club officials, volunteers or staff, and/or PNGA volunteers, staff or fellow contestants
- Public criticism of host club, officials, volunteers or staff, and/or PNGA volunteers, staff or fellow contestants
- Intentionally engaging in a criminal act
- Engaging in activities that result in the potential endangerment of others
- Intentionally violating the Rules of Golf
- Intentionally violating stated club policy
- Violation of PNGA Dress Code
- Violation of PNGA Footwear Policy
The Committee in charge of the competition shall be the sole judge of determining Conduct Code violations.
WITHDRAWAL & REFUND POLICY
All refunds prior to the entry deadline are subject to a $10 administrative fee. Refunds are not available after the entry deadline on September 20, 2018.

During play of the championship, a “Withdrawal Form,” available from a PNGA staff member, must be completed by any competitor withdrawing. Entrants who unofficially withdraw, by not filling out a form or without sufficient reason, may not be granted entry into any future PNGA championship for a minimum of two years.
PACE OF PLAY
Rule 6-7 of the Rules of Golf states: “The player shall play without undue delay and in accordance with any pace of play guidelines which may be laid down by the Committee. Between completion of a hole and playing from the next teeing ground, the player shall not unduly delay play.”
If a group is out of position, (DEFINED BELOW) the group will be alerted to the fact and will be requested to play at a faster pace and will be requested to regain their position on the course. Each member of the group will be subject to individual timing at this time (see timing criteria below). If a golfer exceeds the maximum time allowed for a shot, he/she is subject to the prescribed penalty listed below. Any warning given remains in effect for the stipulated round. If a group fails to regain their position on the course, even though no individual has exceeded the maximum individual time allowed, the GROUP may be subject to penalty if the group exceeds the total time the Committee has determined that each group should take to play a hole.
OUT OF POSITION DEFINED:
First Group - At any time during the round, they exceed the allotted time to play.
Subsequent Groups - At any time during the round they, (a) exceed the allotted time to play and (b) reach a par-3 hole that is open and free of play or reach a par-4 or par-5 hole and have not played a stroke from the teeing ground before the hole is open and free of play.
NOTE: The Committee reserves the right to time a group when the Committee deems it necessary.
TIMING CRITERIA: When a group is not out of position, players are requested to play within 45 seconds. If a group is out of position, the players in the group are allowed a maximum of 40 seconds per shot. On the putting green, timing will begin after a reasonable amount of time is allowed to mark, lift, clean and replace the ball, repair his/her ball mark, and, on the line of putt, repair other ball marks and remove loose impediments. NOTE: Time spent determining yardages counts in time taken for the stroke.
Undue delay may also occur between strokes. Accordingly, a competitor may be subject to penalty under Rule 6-7 even if they play each of their strokes in less than the time allowed.
PENALTY FOR BREACH OF RULE 6-7:
STROKE PLAY
First Offense - One stroke
Second Offense - Two strokes
For subsequent offense - Disqualification
APPEALS: Any appeal must be referred to the Rules Committee immediately upon completion of the player in questions round. The Committee’s decision shall be final.
LODGING
The PNGA has made arrangements for a block of rooms at the following hotel. Contestants are encouraged make their lodging arrangements at the earliest possible date. Standard rates at this hotel are much higher at this time. When making reservations, contestants must identify themselves as PNGA Senior Women’s Amateur Championship participants.
